Our conservatory entrance hall shows pictures and photography dedicated to some of Cornwalls most picturesque scenes and attractions, together with an album depicting Cornish attractions and costal resorts all within a short distance.

THE MARKAL BROOK SUITE

  This room has recently been converted to a twin room. All the furniture range is of Antique Pine. There is silk drapes, arranged on the wall over the Headboards. The views from the Markal Brook window offer the wooded hillside, together with a special view of the Woodpeckers Babbling Brook incorporating the wooden bridge over the brook and the gardens, creating a very relaxing and calm atmosphere.
   
 

The en-suite offers a top of the range Power Shower with a good quality Basin and Toilet. We always provide complimentary Soaps, Shampoos, Conditioners, Shower Caps etc. Tea and Coffee facilities also include fresh filtered water on a daily basis. We have hand made Cornish Chocolates (labelled Woodpeckers Guest House) for each room, together with Fairings Biscuits as treats renewed daily. Magazines and Cornish Welcome Packs are provided together with a full and varied bookcase for those who like to read.

Pictures on the wall remind us of the beauty of the English Countryside.
       
THE LILAC HAVEN SUITE

  This room offers a Four-Poster Bed. This is an Antique Pine Four Poster, draped with contrasting Lilac materials over the posts and along the sides. The room also has a colour TV with remote and also a Digital Box with up to 40 channels. There are Tea and Coffee making facilities, together with Cornish Hand-made chocolates, (labelled Woodpeckers Guest House). Also Cornish Fairings Biscuits are provided.
   


  The room has been tastefully decorated to a high standard, with quality furnishings. The room also houses two bedside cabinets and a 9 draw cabinet, also in Antique Pine. Also included is a large built-in double wardrobe. The room has a two seater Settee. There is a Fridge/Warmer, Hair Dryer, First Aid Box, Smoke Detector (with light for hard of hearing). There are fresh fruit and flowers daily.
The view from the window is of trees, a babbling brook, a small wooden bridge which crosses the brook and beautiful countryside. We offer a choice of magazines in all the rooms, but situated at the top of the stairs is a Pine Bookcase containing a comprehensive selection of books for the avid reader.

All Doors and Skirting Boards are again in Antique Pine. Following off the Bedroom is a large En-suite With Toilet, Basin, cabinets and Shower Cubicle with a new quality shower fitting. There are towels provided, together with complimentary shampoos, conditioners, soaps, shower caps etc.

All of our En-suites contain a First Aid Box. Fresh jugs of filtered water are provided for each of the rooms daily.

On the wall of the Lilac Haven there is a picture of the Albino, REV Davey, Vicar of Altarnun, driving the Heroine Mary Yelland back to the Jamaica Inn (Famous Cornish Attraction on the edge of Bodmin Moor, enhanced by the historical tales of Daphne Du Maurier).
 
THE WOODLAND SUITE



  This room has recently been enhanced with a full en-suite. This contains a spacious Shower Cubicle with a top of the range Power Shower and a separate bath. (The en-suite used to be the family bathroom).
It is a well lit and freshly decorated bedroom, with Antique Pine Double Bed, Wardrobe, Bedside Cabinets and Dressing Table. It also boasts good quality Linen and Fabrics. In the room are provided soaps, shampoos, shower caps and conditioners etc.

Tea and coffee facilities also include fresh filtered water on a daily basis. Hand made Cornish Chocolates (labelled Woodpeckers Guest House), Cornish Pairings Biscuits as room treats.

Magazines and Cornish welcome packs are provided, together with a full and varied bookcase (situated on the Landing) for those who like to read. There is a remote controlled colour TV with a Digital Box with up to 40 channels, a Fridge/Warmer, Hair Dryer, Fresh Fruit and Flowers daily, First Aid Box, Smoke Detector (with light for hard of hearing). Views from the Woodland Suite offer the countryside and Woodpeckers grounds.

There are two DVD's for you to view on Cornwall, Volume 1 is North Cornwall and The Cornish Riviera (includes Eden Project, Carnglaze Caverns, Gaia Energy Centre, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Prideaux Place etc). Volume 2 is dedicated to Newquay and West Cornwall. This DVD featues Trebah Garden, Truro, St Ives, The Japanese Garden, Lands End, The National Maritime Museum Cornwall, Penzance, Falmouth, Mousehole and much more.

Our Cornish Fairings Biscuits and Woodpeckers Guesthouse Cornish Trenance handmade chocolate are treats for each room. We use as many local Cornish Quality Products as we can. This includes cream, Trenithen Dairy Cornish Butter and even Cornish soap.



CORNISH DISTINCTIVENESS

We give Cornish Fairings Biscuits and Trenance Hand Made Chocolates as treats each day in all our rooms. We also give Special Trenanace Hand Made chocolates for Special Occasions and for Long Staying Guests. (The chocolates also have Woodpeckers Guest House Labels on them).

For Long Stay Guests we give Divine Earth Soap. (These are a range of Soaps hand made from pure Vegetable Oils and fragranced with special essential oils) These are locally made in St. Germans.

We also have Cornish Natural Spring Water from Trebor Farm St.Clethor.

We provide at the Breakfast Table Boddingtons berries Cornish Strawberry Conserve from Mevagissey, together with Trewithen Dairy Cornish Butter. Tregagles Butchers fresh Sausages, Bacon and our Eggs are fresh from Caradon Farm.

At our Evening Meal Table we use all Meats purchased from Tregagles Butchers. All Vegetables are from fresh Local Markets (including fresh Cornish New Potatoes when in Season). To accompany Desserts we use Kelly’s Cornish Ice Cream from Bodmin and Roddas Cornish Clotted Cream from Redruth. After Dinner we offer Furnniss Biscuits with Coffee (clotted Cream Shortbread of Butter Gingerbread of if preferred Trenanace Specially Gift Boxed Chocolates.

The Candles used for our Candlelight Evening Suppers /Dinners are from Littlewitch Crafts a Local Company, purchased at Rilla Mill Farmers Market. (Cornish Handmade Candles - Special Fragrance Love Potion) or Candles from Pressingoll Barns in St. Agnes. The beautiful aromas of Opium and Woodland are a favourite with the Guests.

All accompanying Condiments supplied are being replaced with Cornish Products i.e. Coffee, Mustard, Horseradish, etc.
